About the team

Team formed 1946.

Track was at "Oratavia"(called Arvi Tarvi) on The Ridge, Ore Village, Hastings. This track was built by the riders themselves, plus many supporters, using pick's and hand shovel's, marking the inner boundary with white lime, and the outer with fencing.

Team raced in the newly formed Hastings League in August 1949.

The team was defeated by the Dagenham Touring Team in 1949, their first defeat in three years.

The team rode and won fifteen matches in the Hastings League in 1950, and were considered the League Champions, although the league itself folded before the seasons end.

Club Manager: W "Ewart" Barton, 69 The Ridge, Hastings, Sussex.

Asst Manager: Mr "Tich" Cornelius.

Mechanic: Mr Ken Apps.

Raced against Holland on their track in 1950, which the 'Eagles' won.

Track is now the site of Sandown School on the Ridge.

Team Honours.

1950 won the Hastings League, runners-up East Hill Swifts, 3rd Baldslow Boomerangs. Other teams in the league were: Hollington Hammers; Rock-A-Nore Rockets; Langham Lions; Red Devils; Sidley Cyclones; Southern Railway Hawks.

1951 won the Hastings League(the Bown Cup), runners-up Hells Angels, 3rd Sidley Cyclones.

1951 won the Carnival Cup.
