Memories(January 1989).

Alan Ledger was a member of the Chobham Rockets, and their second team, the Jumbos. His father was a bycycle mechanic and he maintained the clubs bycycles. "Parents would help out a lot and Jack 'Manure' Newington would lend us his manure lorry free of charge  to take the bikes to the matches. We didn't care to go with them too much!! Malcolm Crawley was our champion rider and Micky Fortune, who always wore black, was very good as well. We would have our meetings in the King's Head, which has now gone.
