Founded in 1962 as the Ashmore Dragons who then became the Wednesfield Dragons in 1963.

Changed name to the Wednesfield Aces in 1965.

Track in Ashmore Park, Griffiths Drive, Wednesfield WV11 2JW.

Track Dimensions: 97yards x 18ft, shale surface.

Club Colours: Original colours Red/White/Black, changed to Purple/White in the early 70s, then Yellow/Black/Orange in 2005.

Raced in the English League, Northern Premier League 7 Midland League.

1973 English League Champions with 36 points(unbeaten all season), runners up Bristol Lions on 29 points, and 3rd Bournemouth Viscounts on 18 points. Two other teams ended on 18 points, these being Exeter Aces and Norwich Stars.

1975 Roger Lawcock(18) won the English League Riders Junior Final at Bournemouth, runner up Phil Gard(18) Bournemouth, 3rd Richard Cantwell(17) Horspath.

1976 Roger Ellis won the English League Riders Individual Final.

1976 Roger Ellis won the Mike Green 'Handbook Trophy' at Crawley, winning a brand new cycle speedway bike. Colin Wheeler  (Southampton) was runner up, with Alan Miller(Bristol) 3rd and Tony Birch(South London) 4th.

1977 Dave Parsons won the Easter Trophy at Ashmore Park on 18 points. In a run-off for 2nd & 3rd places, John Watchman was the winner, with Pip Serbert finishing on the rostrum in 3rd place.

1978 Alan Guest won the English League Riders Individual Final.

1978 Roger Ellis came runner up in National Individual Final at Norwich.

1978 Gerald Banks won the Alpha 2 Trophy at Great Wakering, runner-up Ray Hall(Poole), 3rd Kevin Sutton(Somersham.

1995 Andrew Jackson & Mark Griffiths won the British Best Pairs at Great Blakenham, runners up Dave Soloman & Jason Pratt (Great Blakenham), 3rd Martin Voller & Mick Carlisle(Wimbledon).

1996 Andrew Jackson(20 max) won the British Under 22 Individual at Stockport, Manchester, runner up Chris Wheatley(18) Sandwell, 3rd lee Aris(15) Wednesfield, after run off with Chris Finnigan(Stockport) and Craig Marchant(Leicester).

1997 Roger Ellis appointed England Team Manager.

2000 Roger Ellis appointed British Lions Team Manager for Australia.
