About the team

Formed in 1950.

Track was in Western Avenue, which was the main route(A40) into West London. The track was close to the Wormwood Scrubs Track.

Club Secretary/Manager: Mrs E. Jones, 29 Furness Road, West Harrow, Middlesex.

Assistant Manager: Mr Jones.

The team became too large, and was spit into two, the other name being the Western Broadsiders. Both teams were known as the Western Cycle Speedway Club.

Raced in the London & Home Counties League 1956.

Club Honours.

1952, 1953 & 1954 won the Hammersmith Trophy. Lost to Raynes Park in 1955.

1952 Runners-Up in the London League.

1954 & 1955 Runners-Up in the Middlesex League.

1954 won the Russell Trophy, beating Peckham.

Speedway Riders.

Tiddler Humphreys went on to ride motor cycle speedway under the name of Tyburn Gallows.
